BMW buying Volvo

This BMW buying Volvo story appears to have legs and I'm a bit surprised to be honest; it's surfaced before. I don't see why BMW would want it or, indeed, why Ford would want shot of it (Volvo ought to be making money again now that new product is there).

The Saab 9-3 and Volvo C70 earn the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's "Top Safety Pick" award for superior crash protection in the first ever tests the Institute has conducted of convertible models.
